ISO 23529:2016 — Rubber — General procedures for preparing and conditioning test pieces for physical test methods. This International Standard specifies general procedures for the preparation, measurement, marking, storage and conditioning of rubber test pieces for use in physical test methods given in other standards; it also gives preferred conditions to be used during such tests and requirements for time intervals between forming and testing of test pieces and products to obtain reproducible results.

Abstract

ISO 23529:2016 sets out uniform, general procedures and preferred conditions for preparing and conditioning rubber test specimens used in physical test methods specified elsewhere. The standard covers specimen preparation (forming and trimming), dimensional measurement and marking, storage and handling, conditioning to defined temperature and humidity, and the time intervals to be observed between forming and testing to reduce variability and disputes between supplier and purchaser. It explicitly excludes special test conditions that are specific to particular tests, materials or whole-product testing.
