Unified system for design documentation. Specifications
Full title and description
GOST 2.114-2016 — Unified system for design documentation. Technical conditions (Технические условия). Межгосударственный стандарт (ESKD) that specifies requirements for the preparation, structure and presentation of technical specifications (ТУ) used in engineering and manufacturing design documentation.
Abstract
This standard defines the rules, mandatory elements and recommended practices for composing, designating, approving and maintaining technical conditions (ТУ) within the Unified System for Design Documentation (ЕСКД). It replaces the previous edition (GOST 2.114-95) and clarifies content, numbering, normative references, normative control and annexing of test, acceptance, packaging and marking requirements for product documentation.
General information
- Status: Active (interstate standard adopted as national standard of the Russian Federation)
- Publication date: 2016 (introduced in force as national standard from 1 April 2017)
- Publisher: Interstate standard (adopted by the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology — Rosstandart); edition published by Standartinform (Moscow)
- ICS / categories: ICS 01.100 (standardization and related activities); ESKD (Unified system for design documentation); group T52
- Edition / version: 2016 edition (GOST 2.114-2016); includes later amendments published in official information indexes
- Number of pages: 16 (typical published text)
Scope
Applies to technical specifications (ТУ) for products, materials and components manufactured and used across machine-building, instrument-making and other industrial sectors where design documentation is prepared in accordance with ЕСКД. The standard covers structure and content of ТУ, rules for designation and numbering, normative references, technical requirements, acceptance and control provisions, and rules for annexes and illustrative material.
Key topics and requirements
- Structure and mandatory sections of technical conditions (title, scope, normative references, technical requirements, acceptance, test methods, marking, packaging, storage).
- Rules for designation and formation of ТУ identifiers (including use of national classification and enterprise codes in designations).
- Requirements for normative references and how to cite dated/undated standards within ТУ.
- Normocontrol (quality-control) and approval entries required on documents prepared under ESKD.
- Guidance on inclusion of test and acceptance criteria, sampling rules and methods of verification.
- Formatting, annexing (normative and informational appendices), and minimal content for examples and templates.
- Compatibility and transitional provisions replacing GOST 2.114-95 and handling previously approved ТУ.
Typical use and users
Used by design offices, product documentation authors, technical writers, quality and regulatory departments, manufacturing engineers, certification bodies and national/regional standards organizations. Typical applications include drafting new ТУ for products, updating existing ТУ to meet ESKD rules, preparing documentation for product approvals, and harmonizing enterprise technical documentation with national/interstate requirements.
Related standards
Part of the ESKD (Unified system for design documentation) family; commonly used together with other GOST/ESKD standards such as GOST 2.102 (types and completeness of design documents), GOST 2.104 (title block / main inscription), GOST 2.105–2.106 (text document rules), GOST 2.109 (general drawing requirements), GOST 2.111 (normocontrol) and other GOST 2.xxx series documents that govern formats, numbering, drawing and document management.
